Event description
The International Big Shoe Summit is a 1-day entrepreneurship event held in Washington, DC for youth and teens.

About this Event

1st Annual Big Shoes Summit: The art of entrepreneurship

This event was inspired by my passion for teaching our upcoming generation the power of monetizing your genius and creating multiple streams of income for both yourself and for your community. The Big Shoes Summit seeks to encourage our youth to tap into their entrepreneurial spirit and get a jumpstart on fulfilling their purpose.

During this day-long event, students will be introduced to industry leaders who will teach them about topics in starting a business, marketing, finance/budgeting, leadership, and authoring their own books to enhance their careers. In addition to these workshops, students will also have the opportunity to scout for summer jobs, network with like-minded youth, and build long-lasting relationships.

As a bonus, we will also be holding a pitch competition for students to get a taste of what it’s like to market themselves before a panel. The student with the best pitch will receive a $500 prize, publicity on each of the panelists’ social media pages with thousands of followers, and recognition as the Youth Entrepreneur of the Year.

Speakers Include:

  • Jason Shine, Leadership 101
  • Nicole Edwards, Budgeting & Finance
  • Frank Goodman, Branding & Marketing
  • Dr. Naresh Chand, Health & Wellness
  • Bianca Scott, Book Writing
  • and many more panelist & speakers

Who is hosting the event?

The event will be hosted by Da’Shon Forrest, founder and CEO of Clown N’ Around Entertainment. Since the age of 15, he has successfully managed a company of over 50 entertainers and worked with top corporations such as M&Ms, JLL, McDonalds, and Chick-fil-A. Da’Shon has also been featured on Fox News, WJLA 7, ABC News, church panels, and his own book tour in Chicago, Philadelphia, Virginia, Tennessee. In recognition of his commitment to the community, he has received the Distinction of Hope ward from Reverend Tony Lee of Community of Hope AME Church.

How will this benefit the organization?

Now more than ever, our youth are exposed to a lot of different influences that could lead them down the wrong path. Being part of this event will help steer students into a more positive direction and open their eyes to a breadth of opportunity which is not readily available on a regular basis.
