Intermediate/Advanced Barista Training *Must complete Barista Fundamentals before attending unless approved by trainer

After a barista has established fundamentals, baristas will work to develop their proficiency in dialing-in, milk steaming and texturing, pouring latte art, and speed and flow. They will learn to work with alternative milks and build the more difficult drinks, on and off menu. Control and a deeper understanding of espresso will be established through tasting exercises demonstrating how dose and grind variables affect the strength and development of flavor in espresso.


This is the class that develops the skills Stumptown baristas need to pass certification. It is designed to be taken multiple times, each being a different experience with lesson built to fit the needs and development of the barista to refine the skills from previous classes and help them work towards becoming a top tier barista to achieve highest standards for milk texture, drink building, customer service, and latte art.



Trainings are held downstairs at the Stumptown cafe located at:
