Pre-req: Must have ability to swim one length (long way) each of crawl, backstroke and breaststroke. Intermediate swim focuses on refining strokes while building endurance. Each of the strokes will be taken apart and put back together better than before! Other topics covered include laps, treading water, diving and water safety. Goggles recommended. Attendance in at least one of the first two classes is mandatory for evaluation or you may lose your spot in class to those on a waitlist. No enrollments are accepted after the class meets a third time.
This class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:00-8:00 PM from January 9, April 17, 2017. There is no class on Monday, January 16, Monday, February 27 and Wednesday, March 1.
Available for University of Michigan academic credit. See your academic advisor before registering through Eventbrite. Once registered, contact Kerry Winkelseth via email (email@example.com) with your name, class number and start date, UMID and uniqname for the override so you can register on Wolverine Access.
What is the cancellation/refund policy?
You may cancel from class without a penalty up until it meets for the first time. After that, cancellations and refunds are allowed only through the University of Michigan academic class calendar drop/add deadline: January 24, 2017. A $20 cancellation fee will apply. If you are taking the class for credit, you will also need to drop it on Wolverine Access. In order to obtain a refund, log on to EventBrite and request your refund.
Are there Rec Sports facility building access requirements?
You must be an enrolled UM student or have a UM Rec Sports membership in order to participate.
