This course is for Ed Portal Members only and is free.

The course is limited to 12 participants.

Lunch is not served. You can bring your lunch and enjoy it on our outdoor patio.

No need to bring a computer. This course is taught using our laptops.


Audience: This course is intended for individuals who wish to improve their basic knowledge of Microsoft Word to take advantage of timesaving features, and elements to improve the consistency and appearance of documents.

Prerequisites: Beginner Microsoft Word 2013 or equivalent experience

Course Objectives: Use Word more efficiently by automating tasks and creating complex documents that include lists, tables, charts, graphics, and newsletter layouts. Learn to merge data to personalize correspondence and labels.

Course Outline:

  • Working with Tables and Charts
  • Customizing Formats Using Styles and Themes
  • Using Images in a Document
  • Creating Custom Graphic Elements
  • Inserting Content Using Quick Parts
  • Controlling Text Flow
  • Using Templates
  • Using Mail Merge
  • Using Macros

In addition to the workshop, participants can attend two Practice Sessions.
