Event description

Description

Learn why and how to can food at home, from a true expert and veteran canner. OSU Extension Agent Melinda Hill brings decades of experience to our Homemade 101 classroom on Saturday, June 9! Whether you've never canned before or simply want to brush up on your skills, Melinda's got you covered. Topics of this class will include the differences between water bath and pressure canning, equipment needed for each method, processing times, important safety techniques and the best ways to harvest and prepare produce before canning. We'll also have delicious samples for you to try from our own Lehman's pantry! Space is limited; reserve your seat today.

Is there an age limit to attend?

Age 10+. Please note that the class content is NOT geared toward children, but we understand that some young people may have special interest in the subject, so they are more than welcome to attend, provided they purchase a ticket and meet the age limit. Parents with babies are also welcome to bring their child to class, but we ask that you be courteous to the other class participants if your children begin to get antsy.

What is the refund policy?

Because these are limited class sizes, we are not able to provide refunds. Sorry!
