Event description

Description

This workshop will cover topics like making successful splits, re-queening your hives to prepare for fall. Monitoring for mites, Integrated Pest Management strategies for pests and diseases.

Presenter of the program is Chris Robbins.

More about Chris: He is currently the Owner of Nature’s Harvest Honey & Produce in St. Johns, MI. He has 12 years of beekeeping experience. Chris is a former extension agent for University of Tennessee/ Tennessee State University Cooperative Extension Service (11 years). He enjoys and has a passion for passing on knowledge of beekeeping and other farming and gardening practices to others that are interested in the topics. You should enjoy his delivery style that is a great mix of research-based information mixed with Chris’s practical touches that have been gleaned from his years of hands-on experience.

In order to be able to offer exceptional gardening workshops to our community, we try to price the workshops to cover our costs of hosting them while keeping the registration affordable for our neighbors. If you can, we ask that you pay the suggested $12. You are always welcome to pay more to support our programming and subsidize attendance for other neighbors.

If the cost of this workshop is a burden for you but you still want to come, we will not turn you away! Please e-mail or call Gardening Educator Kat Kepski at gardeningeducator@allenneighborhoodcenter.org or 517-999-3913 to discuss this option.
