Description

Faith and spirituality are essential elements of healing and recovery for many people. Yet members of the clergy and people of faith can feel ill-equipped to provide appropriate support, education and assistance to persons living with a mental illness and for their family members.

NAMI Sacramento invites you to a unique information exchange on mental health in a spiritually relevant environment. Join Us as we create Bridges of Hope and encourage communities of faith to develop welcoming and spiritually nourishing environments in their places of worship. :

  • Mental Health Education, types and treatments
  • Support and Advocacy in Faith Communities
  • Reducing Stigma
  • Panel discussion
  • Networking and resource fair

Keynote speaker:

  • David Bartley - Mental Health Advocate

Panelists:

  • Flossie Crump, Chairperson - St. Paul's Mental Health Ministry

  • Melissa C. Matthews, MD - Psychiatrist for Kaiser Roseville

  • Rabbi Rueven Taff - Rabbi for the Mosaic Law Congregation
