Description

Celebrate the Difference in Unity: Faiths, Cultures, and Generations Together.

Haggadah booklets for the event will combine traditional elements with a thematic discussion. The singing will combine Jewish songs, Christian hymns, and traditional niggunim—tunes with no lyrics. A delicious buffet will be served!

Facilitators

Dr. Borja Vilallonga, Columbia University

Dr. Borja Vilallonga, Ph.D. is a research scholar at Columbia University. He earned his Ph.D. from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris, France with a dissertation devoted to Catholicism and nationalism in 19th-century Europe. His current research focuses on the relationship between religion and modernity. Besides his academic work, Vilallonga offers interfaith and pluralistic spiritual direction in New York City.

Rabbi Margo Hughes-Robinson, Jewish Theological Seminary

Margo Hughes-Robinson is a Marshall T. Meyer Rabbinic Fellow at B’nai Jeshurun on the Upper West Side. In addition to working at BJ, Margo is also 3rd-year student rabbi at the Jewish Theological Seminary, where she is pursuing an MA in Midrash (Traditional Exegesis). As a student rabbi, teacher and interfaith activist, Margo has worked in the Middle East, Latin America, Europe and in the US with many organizations; including the Focolare, T’ruah: the Rabbinic Call for Human Rights, the Institute for Islamic, Christian and Jewish Studies, the Hill Upon the City Collective, and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine.

Cantor Anna Chapman, Jewish Theological Seminary

Anna Chapman May is a student at the Jewish Theological Seminary and will soon be ordained as a Cantor. She is originally from Brooklyn, NY and now lives on the Upper East side with her husband and cat. She grew up in an interfaith family and is excited to be participating in the Interfaith Seder at the Church of St. Francis Xavier.

Cost: $30 per person.
