1) - Collectively we can leverage discounted purchasing of first aid kits or replenishment supplies for a youth day refiling kits, summer camp supplies, and of packaged supplies for making small kits for seniors, travelers and compassion kits/blessing bags for homeless people.
2) Collectively we are able to set up training programs that smaller groups may have difficulty obtaining alone.
3) INN would like to host an evening of disaster planning with free assistance for houses of worship from local agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI).
During the upcoming year we envision:
Youth and family interfaith activities, service days, and events that build understanding and peace based on our common ground: living in Howard County.
We would like faith communities to help each other create and test responses to concerns in our community, and to be part of the county's disaster plan - such as our parking lots being points of public or closed distribution for sandbags, water, dry ice or medications from government or response services.
In the event that misfortune comes to our area, we will do what we can to offer comfort and support to each other's communities. For example, if your building suffered an emergency, could your plan designate a meeting place for families to regroup and get initial services away from the public eye?
Together we can create and share a source we can confidently direct people to for information about our faith and culture; scholarships, religious recognitions, and information from organizations in faith communities; interfaith answers to questions from our community.
