Interfaith Hiking Series - Church of the Resurrection, Greek Orthodox Church

This is part of Pack 996's Interfaith Hiking Series which aims to give our Cub Scouts and their families a better understanding of the religions in our community and a greater acceptance of diverse religious beliefs. We will meet at the Church of the Resurrection Greek Orthodox Church in Castro Valley where we will learn about their religion, house of worship, and aspects of the Scout Law.

The hike is a 0.5 mile, 9 minute walk from the Earl Warren Dog Park to the church. If you prefer, you can drive directly to the Church of the Resurrection (20104 Center St, Castro Valley, CA 94546) and meet up with us there.

Agenda:

• 10:40 AM: Park/Gather at Earl Warren Dog Park

• 10:45 AM: Leave for Church of the Resurrection. The hike is only 0.5 mile and will take approximately 9 minutes.

• 10:55 AM: Arrive at Church of the Resurrection for tour of the church and brief demonstration of chant

Do I need to print out the Eventbrite ticket?

NO. This is just for the organizers to get a good headcount.

What to wear and bring?

Cub Scouts should wear their Class A uniform.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

We will walk from the Earl Warren Dog Park to Church of the Resurrection. Please only park at the dog park or the church as parking along the route is not recommended.
