Description

Brooklyn Public Library’s Adult Learning Program, in partnership with SUNY Brooklyn Educational Opportunity Center (BEOC), is now offering FREE Medical Billing & E-Records. BEOC is administered by New York City College of Technology! Upon successful completion, participants will be prepared to take the national certification exam to become a certified billing and coding specialist.

BPL will reimburse the cost of one certified exam; job placement assistance available.

Thurs., Dec. 5th; 4:30 pm-8:00 pm

Training Schedule: (15 hours a week accelarated program)

Mondays through Thursdays 6 – 9 pm and Fridays 10am - 1p

Starting: February – May 2020

At Brooklyn Educational Opportunity Center 111 Livingston St., 2nd Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11201

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

High School Diploma/HSE equivalency (or HSE by May 2020)

18 years of age or older

US citizen, permanent resident or refugee

NYS resident for at least one (1) year

Ability to meet placement test requirements (TABE)

Low to moderate income

No more than 33 college credits earned (college degrees are not eligible for this program)

The HSE program is made possible through Workforce Investment Act Title II federal funds that support programs in Adult Literacy and English as a Second Language, awarded through a competitive grant process administered by the ACCES Office of the New York State Education Department.
