Event description

Description

inter.action is a project that utilizes the gallery space to create a participatory, ephemeral yarn installation between the artist, Laura Bucci, and members of the public.

This project was first staged in Vancouver, in the artist’s hometown, as a way to meaningfully re-connect face-to-face with friends and acquaintances. In this phase of the project in New Glasgow, the artist (who now lives in Cape Breton) seeks to connect with strangers in an effort to build a new network one person at a time.

Through one-on-one, or two-on-one participation with the artist you will build on the existing yarn installation. Our materials are yarn and pins and our canvas are the walls and the floor. Each session is up to 1 hour long. As the project progresses, the exhibition space will evolve as participants add to, or modify, the installation.

The image on this page shows the Vancouver installation.

Absolutely no experience required. Any teen or adult can participate. Only one or two people can participate during a timeslot.

TO PARTICIPATE: Register for a timeslot with the artist through this website. Click the Red Button "Select a Date."

PLEASE NOTE: If you'd like to participate with a friend, only Register one person.

A timeslot can be booked up to 12 hours before, after which it will not be available. So best to book you preferred date and time as soon as you can. I don't live in New Glasgow, so this enables me to give me time to travel to the gallery.
