About the Program
This presentation will address principles essential to attorneys handling liability insurance claims for either the plaintiff or insured defendant, including obtaining and reviewing critical information; privacy and privilege issues; defense issues and options; and effective settlement techniques and strategies.
About the Speaker
Following graduation from law school in 1986, Robert Closson of Hirsch Closson APLC initially served as a multi-lines claims representative with a major insurance company in San Diego before entering private practice in 1987. For the past 30 years he has concentrated his AV rated practice almost exclusively in insurance coverage litigation and appeals, and the rendering of coverage opinions for insurers and insureds. His insurance practice has involved the property and casualty fields of commercial and personal lines policies with an emphasis on serious injury, construction defect, intellectual property, business litigation and environmental claims.
His clients have included insurers, risk retention groups,hospitals, governmental entitles, builders, subcontractors, and trade associations. Mr. Closson is admitted to practice before the California state courts and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Central, Eastern and Northern Districts of California, the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, and the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Closson lectures both locally and nationally.
