About this Event

Protect the good name of your business and products by applying for a United States trademark. Learn more about intellectual property at a seminar at UNC Charlotte's J. Murrey Atkins Library on Thursday, September 19. Craig Morris, managing attorney for trademarks at the United States Patent and Trademark office will be on hand to discuss the importance of a federally registered trademark.

In addition, Patent and Trademark Librarian Beth Scarborough will conduct a patent search workshop following Morris' presentation. She will discuss basic patent information and how to conduct a thorough search of existing patents and applications.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m. with the trademark presentation starting at 9:30 a.m. Patent searching will begin at 11:15 a.m.

Parking is available for a fee in the Cone Visitor's parking garage on the campus of UNC Charlotte. Go here for more information on parking. Access to Atkins Library is also available via light rail. A map of the transit routes from the Main UNC Charlotte light rail stop is available here. The green and gold routes will take you to a stop near the library.
