Event description

Description

Join us to mark the 50th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act! The future of inclusive, equitable communities and fair treatment for all is vital for our city. This event is free, and enjoy complimentary drinks and snacks.

Walk around our Data Gallery, featuring posters and information documenting the history of segregation and key historical moments related to fair housing — both in Austin and nationally.

Stop by our Speak Up table to write a message to public officials using our “Room for All” specially designed postcard.

Chat with fair housing advocates and attorneys about the law’s significance, what it states, and how it helps strengthen communities and our overall economy. Plus, hear more about the history surrounding the struggle for fair housing right here in Austin and more about the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) rule.
