Event Details

This 3-week intensive online professional development experience provides participants with hands-on experiences in creating educational and instructional technology environments that are student-centered, collaborative, inquiry-based, and emphasize critical thinking. Explore the fundamentals of interactive design, transmedia storytelling, web curation, and technology integration that supports curriculum content standards at the 7-12 grade levels. Participants will:

  • Access and analyze the curriculm impact of current educational technologies upon student performance
  • Design and develop a strategic plan for using technology to achieve specific educational goals
  • Create and curate web-based curriculum and technoogies to enact social and pedagogical innovation
  • Participants can earn up to 32 professional development credit hours through Montclair State University.

Participants receive a complimentary copy of Dr. Domine's book, Rethinking Technology in Schools and free admission to a full-day kick-off event on August 11th "The (Common) Core of the Matter: A Digital and Media Literacy Unconference" on August 11th (10am-3pm) in the ADP Center for Teacher Preparation and Learning Technologies @ MSU.


Note: Registrants should possess a basic to intermediate level of technological proficiency that includes fluency in digital file management, screen capture, and office suite tools; and a familiarity with basic social media platforms.

The Department of Secondary and Special Education at Montclair State University is committed to preparing educational professionals who can improve the lives of students through excellent teaching. Graduates teach in content areas such as History, English, Science, Math, and foreign languages in secondary schools as well as specialty areas (Art, Music, Physical Education) in P-12 settings. We also prepare special educators to teach across the lifespan, as well as prepare teachers to lead efforts to impact the quality of teaching and learning in schools.
