Event description

Description

After the succesful kick-off of our Insurance Tableau User Group (TUG) back in March, we are looking forward to hold the next Insurance TUG on 19th October 2017 at Slalom's offices in London.

Come, join us on the 19th October 2017, to hear our friends from Hiscox, Medical Defence Union and Slalom share their experiences with Tableau..

Agenda

  • 4:00pm - Registration

  • 4:30pm - Welcome & Introductions

  • 4:45pm - Using R with Tableau (Steven Wilkins, Head of Underwriting Insight, Hiscox)
Steven's team supports the Underwriting function at Hiscox by providing insights on a wide range of subjects using statistical techniques and analytical models. Steven will be talking about how his team use R alongside Tableau to create easy to use tools and present them to Underwriters to make decisions

  • 5:15pm - Tips & Tricks in Tableau 10.3 (Maddy Malmgren, Consultant - Slalom)

  • 5:30pm - Breaking Down Silos and Improving Data Governance (Joe Bullock, Senior Business Analyst, Medical Defence Union)
MDU have used Tableau to transform their data culture from static, spreadsheet-based to interactive and visual in nature. They now blend previously disparate data from their membership and claims systems, and improve governance by unifying terminology and metadata across teams. Tableau has helped them reduce reporting silos by promoting shared data and workbooks. Joe will be sharing his thoughts on how this has allowed MDU to build trust with their users through joint development and not just "delivering" to them.

  • 6:00pm - Networking & Drinks Reception

  • 7:00pm - Close

We look forward to seeing you on the 19th October 2017.
