About this event
This curriculum is based on the 2012 edition of NFPA 1041 Standard for Fire Service Instructor Professional Qualifications. At the end of this course, candidates for Instructor I certification will be able to teach and deliver instruction from a prepared lesson plan utilizing instructional aids and evaluation instruments. The Instructor I will also be able to adapt a lesson plan and complete the reporting requirements to the local jurisdiction.
All SFFD COVID-19 safety protocols will be observed for this course. Per SFFD policy, participants are not allowed to interact with academy recruits on site.

Captain de Dios has been a certified State Fire Marshal Master Instructor since 2004. For the past 15 years she’s been teaching the Training Instructor series. Her focus has been on providing fire service instructors with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to be excellent instructors, as well as emphasizing the importance of mentorship and succession planning.
