Description

Cut. Fold. Stitch. Make six city books from start to finish. Explore simple bookbinding from Eastern and early Western traditions. Make individual and collaborative books, one-of-a-kind books, zines, and small editions of NYC secrets--simple sewn pamphlets, stab stitch, skyline accordions, and long-stitch bindings--books that require only a few simple tools--Plus e-z pop-ups, origami-base books, flexagons, and other paper toys. See the works of contemporary book artists. Discuss how you can publish and distribute your own artist book. This class could include a field trip.
