Barry Maiden is a nationally prominent chef, best known for his Cambridge restaurant Hungry Mother, where he earned the 2015 Best Chef of the Northeast Award from the James Beard Foundation. His background and consuming passion is for the almost lost traditions of the Carolina Lowcountry. (Prime examples are the heirloom grains saved from extinction by Anson Mills.)
