IDSA NY invites you to the series called Inspiration Lounge hosted by WeCross on Wednesday, February, 20th 2013. The Inspiration Lounge is a forum to hear inspirational viewpoints and work. Each speaker comes equipped with insights from their own unique process and experiences. The Inspiration Lounge is a tool for cross pollinating ideas between all facets of design and applying design thinking into all industries.
Doors open at 7:00pm followed by complimentary drinks. Discussion starts promptly at 7:30pm. Space is limited so RSVP today to expedite the security process upon entry. Attendees must be 21+. Seating is first come first serve.
Emilie Baltz is a creative polymath. Working at the intersection of food, design and the senses, she creates experiences that provoke our relationship to eating, drinking and living through imagery, products, books and parties. Taking as tenat that food is our most fundamental form of consumption, this presentation will examine the dimensions in which food design can play a role in stimulating both the head and heart of consumers and creators alike. She will show examples of her work, including highlights from collaborations with Museum of Sex, Droog Design, and the City of New York, as well as reveal selected recipes from her two (diametrically opposed) books, Junk Foodie : 51 Delicious Recipes for the Lowbrow Gourmand, and her newest publication L.O.V.E FOODBOOK : Le Libertinage Gourmand.
