Description

WeAreTENZING and Derek Handley, in conjunction with helloworld, are proud to present
'Inside The Mind of Sir Graham Henry: Why Adversity Is Your Asset’.

Every day, exceptional people are living significant lives. Inside The Mind exists to delve deep into their minds, ask the hard questions and discover what really makes them tick.

About Inside The Mind

Join us on Friday the 25th of May at the Cordis Hotel in Auckland as we welcome the next keynote speaker in the Inside The Mind business breakfast series; Sir Graham Henry.

Drawing from experiences from across his distinguished career, which has included stints coaching Wales, the British and Irish Lions, Auckland, the Blues, and, of course, the All Blacks, Sir Graham will share his insights into why adversity, when harnessed correctly, is one of the single greatest assets a human being can possess.

Across his career, Sir Graham faced periods of monumental adversity. From unceremoniously leaving Wales in 2002 following their record 54-10 loss to the Irish in the Six Nations, to the All Blacks’ humiliating 2007 Rugby World Cup quarter final loss to the French in Cardiff, adversity has been constant throughout Sir Graham’s career.

Through those difficult periods, Sir Graham learnt how important it is to harness the adversity to develop resilience. At Inside The Mind, he’ll be opening his mind and sharing the strategies he used to turn adversity into his asset, and how those strategies can be implemented in your personal and professional lives.

In addition to welcoming Sir Graham to Inside The Mind, we’re also very excited to announce our special guest host - Jess Quinn.

In her 25 years, Jess has faced more adversity than most of us will face in 10 lifetimes. At 9 years old, Jess was diagnosed with osteosarcoma - a form of bone cancer - in her leg. 16 rounds of chemotherapy followed, including a bout of the strongest available chemo at its maximum dosage, but it was ultimately unsuccessful. As a last resort, the decision was made to amputate Jess’ right leg at the hip.

Where she is now is a testament to the strength and resilience that Jess gained through her times of adversity. A successful model, blogger, public speaker and fashion school graduate, Jess’ perspective on life is an inspiration to many.

Following Sir Graham’s keynote speech, both he and Jess will sit down with social entrepreneur Derek Handley for an intimate fireside chat, where they will delve deeper into the adversity both of our guests have faced and how those experiences have shaped the people they are today. Derek isn’t afraid to ask the hard, sometimes uncomfortable, questions, peeling back the layers of two of New Zealand’s most exceptional people to understand how they deal with adversity and how you can do the same.

Don’t miss your chance to hear from these two incredible people - book your tickets now!
