Event description

Description

The nuclear deal recently agreed to by many of the world’s powers and Iran, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), has sparked serious debate among American policymakers, supporters of Israel, and those invested in diplomacy and Middle East peace. Join J Street DC’s Young Professionals Network as we discuss the policy and politics of the JCPOA with two of its most insightful advocates on Capitol Hill — Lara Friedman, Director of Policy and Government Relations at Americans for Peace Now, and David Wade, former Chief of Staff for Secretary of State John Kerry. Our speakers will help us unearth and understand many of the JCPOA’s technical details and grapple with the political dynamics that have made debate over the deal so contentious here in DC and around the country. Food and drink will be available for purchase, and there will be plenty of time for us all to mingle, get to know one another, and confront these pressing questions.
