Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Help make sure every child can get in the game!

We’re hosting a sports equipment drive for BounceBack, a DuPage County-based charity helps families afford the cost of enrolling their children in competitive leagues of all types. This fall they are in need of the following sports equipment items:

  • Shoulder pads
  • Compression pads
  • Thigh pads
  • Football cleats
  • Practice jerseys
  • Socks
  • Equipment bags

  • Shin guards
  • Cleats
  • Balls
  • Bags

  • Cleats
  • Left and Right-handed gloves
  • Bags
  • Aluminum Bats (NO wood)

Take a look in your garage and see what you have. Ask neighbors and friends to donate to this great cause.

This is a great way for families to learn that all kids deserve to reap the benefits of team play: the ability to think on your feet, work hard, be a great student and work with others.

What you need to bring

  1. Gently used sports equipment from the list above to donate.

  2. Gift cards to Dick’s Sporting Goods or Amazon to support BounceBack’s efforts to buy sports equipment for children.

  3. Grab family, a frisbee and/or a kickball and join in a pickup game behind the house.

We’ll meet on Sunday, September 17, at 2 p.m. at the home of I Support Community Founder and Executive Director Marion Ruthig to sort donations and play family field games on the lawn. Join us for a fun afternoon of service and pick-up games (kickball, Frisbee, etc.) with other families.

Space is limited. You must register to reserve your spot(s). There is no cost to register, but we do expect that if you register you will attend. If something arises, please take the time to go in and update your registration so that we have an accurate head count, or you can email Thank you.

Age guidelines / Parent participation

Inside Out Club weekend events are designed for children ages 3-12 and their parents. Older children are welcome to participate as volunteer/mentors for the younger kids. These are family events, not drop off. If you have questions about these guidelines, please contact Rita at

About the club

I Support Community’s Inside Out Club is on a mission to develop kids with character inside and out: Kids who work well together, include others, keep trying if they fail, can imagine what it’s like to be someone else, know themselves inside and out, are curious, thankful and kind, and support the community. Can you imagine if every child grew up believing and living their lives this way?

Our vision is individuals and families empowered through strength of character and volunteerism to live fuller lives for generations to come. We believe the more children and families that participate in the Inside Out Club, over time, we will make this vision come true. Thank you for being a part of it!

The Inside Out Club is on the weekends, in schools and @home (online). We offer it free of cost so that everyone can participate regardless of their financial situation. If you’d like to make a donation, please click here.
