Description

The INSEAD Summer Ball will take place at the famous Château de Fontainebleau, home to Kings, Queens and Empresses of France for eight centuries. The Capétins, Valois, Bourbons, Bonaparte and Orléans, all members of French ruling dynasties, have lived within these walls.

The Château holds special meaning for INSEAD. It was here, in a wing of this 12th century Château that INSEAD was born half a century ago. Due to this link with the Château, the INSEAD Ball will be held in the magnificent rooms that are not normally open to the general public.

The INSEAD Summer Ball is one of the oldest INSEAD traditions. Held annually on the last weekend of May, it is timed to coincide with the Alumni Reunion Weekend for the 5 & 10 years. Expect DJs and performances and music to suit all tastes. The Summer Ball is a unique event for all members of the wider INSEAD community: alumni, current students, staff, faculty, friends and families.

The price of the ticket includes a stand-up dinner (Savoury, sweet, hot, cold, vegetarian, cheese platter and amazing desserts - there will be something for everyone… Not forgetting the Panini, Soup & Pasta buffet at the end of the evening), champagne & free flow drinks all night long, exciting entertainment and special surprises to make this a memorable evening!

The dress code for the event is 'black tie and evening dress' or national costume.

FAQs

Can I update my registration information?

Indeed, you can edit & modify the information you entered when you registered on Eventbrite. In order to do so, please click on “My Tickets” on the top right side of the email you received, you will then by redirected onto your account and will then be able to edit your profile.

What is the Dress Code?

The dress code for the event is 'black tie and evening dress' or national dress. For men, it means wearing a tuxedo or equivalent attire. For women, it entails wearing an evening gown or formal cocktail dress.
But, this is not mandatory. People have come in black suits (with tie) and women in cocktail dresses. The idea is that this is a prestigious formal event…which means no jeans, T-shirts, casual dresses and definitely no sneakers.

Fonty in May can be quite chilly! We have arranged for a cloakroom in Cour Ovale, for jackets, shawls and shoes should you need it. We recommend that ladies wear flat/comfortable shoes to go from the entrance of the Chateau to the ball venue because of the cobble stones. You will then have the possibility to change into a fancy pair for the actual ball.

What is the Summer Ball pricing policy?

- Early-bird price until 14 April 2019 (included)
