Celebrate the release of the Ins and Outs of Queens book series. The
Ins and Outs of Queens is a 5-book series that features five different
communities in Queens. Each eBook is a photo-journal neighborhood tour of a local community and park. Join us for the journey at the Ins and Outs' book launch on 4/6/13, 2-5pm at Space Womb in Long Island City, NY.
This is a free, kid friendly event with refreshments, silent auction, live
music/dj, face painting, mehendhi and much more!
Ins and Outs of Queens celebrates the multiculturalism of New York
City. Queens is a multifaceted mosaic; the most diverse place in the
entire world! Almost half of Queens' residents are born outside the
United States, making Queens a rich region with multiple cultures,
values and customs.
In this dynamic series every book is multilingual; books are
translated into the dominant mother tongue(s) of the community;

Ins and Outs of Queens
Ins and Outs of Queens is a 5-book series that features five different communities in Queens. Each book is a photo-journal neighborhood tour of a local community and park. The children dialogue about the rich, diverse communities that they are a part of. Each book contains images of the community and its people along with relevant vocabulary. The Ins and Outs of Queens features Astoria, Flushing, Jackson Heights, Jamaica and Richmond Hill. The series was created, written and photographed by Shabana Sharif.
