Description

The Modern School of Film and School of Visual Arts presents the most recent installment of MSF's critically-acclaimed series lN:PICTURES, wherein iconic guests discuss three films that have most-influenced their life and work.

This installment features award-winning author Salman Rushdie – creator of twelve internationally-acclaimed novels, including Midnight's Children (Booker Prize), Shame, and The Satanic Verses – as he revisits three films that have inspired his journey as a transcendent literary force. The films Mr. Rushdie will discuss will be Satyajit Ray’s Pather Panchali, Star Wars, and Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel.

IN:PICTURES will include clips of each film, along with an in-depth discourse with Mr. Rushdie on how cinema has shaped both his work and the continued legacy of this master of genre, form, and modern storytelling.
