Praxi Network is organizing an international workshop on
” Innovative financial tools for cultural and creative industries for creative new tourism services” on 29 and 30/05/2017. The workshop will take place in the island of Rhodes during the Medieval Festival of Rhodes* that will take place at the end of May 2017.
The festival is dedicated to the Medieval Town of Rhodes (one of UNESCO’s World Heritage monuments), with local and European cultural and creative SMEs presenting their work to the tourists visiting the island.
The workshop will focus on innovative financial tools (loans, guarantees, microfinance, social finance, crowdfunding) as well as programs (COSME. EFSI, EASI, EIB, Interreg) for supporting cultural and creative SMEs for creating innovative services and products for the local tourism ecosystem and in particular the European islands. The workshop aims to validate explore the results and provide feedback from the European Tourism Day of 2016 that took place in Brussels (29/112016) with the general title" Enhancing synergies between tourism and cultural and creative industries. Innovative solutions as the driver for jobs and growth”.
During the workshop the results of the COSME/DIVERTIMENTO** project will be presented.
DIVERTIMENTO diversifies tourism offers in peripheral destinations with heritage-based products and services, addressing stakeholder alliances and improving professional skills to internationalize locally operating micro-enterprises, achieve excellence and facilitate their uptake by the global market. The Project combats stakeholder fragmentation and detects the unexploited cultural potential in peripheral destinations by uniting forces and by replacing outdated skills and mind-sets with a new, shared vision for development.
