This year's Innovating University public lecture will be given by Stian Westlake, Policy Adviser to Jo Johnson MP, Minister of State for Universities, Science, Research and Innovation. In his lecture, Stian will look at 'Innovation Clusters' and their role in our data-driven age.
Prior to his role at the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, Stian lead Nesta's Policy and Research team. His research interests include the measurement of innovation and its effects on productivity, the role of high-growth businesses in the economy, financial innovation, and how government policy should respond to technological change. He is also interested in historical perspectives on present-day innovation questions.
Stian's lecture will be held in Cardiff Business School’s Postgraduate Teaching Centre. A drinks reception will take place from 5.30pm.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
If you are travelling by public transport, then the nearest stop is Cathays Station. Local rail services run regularly to Cathays from platform 6 of Cardiff Central Station. The local bus service provider is Cardiff Bus; route 36 stops outside the Main Building of Cardiff University.
Visitors not using public transport are advised to use public car parks in central Cardiff. Car parking within the University is extremely limited and, for this reason, reserved for visitors with mobility requirements.
We'd recommend using our website for full details on travel.
