At the core of university-based innovation is intellectual property.

Whether it's patents, copyrights, or trademarks, come learn how intellectual property is protected in general and managed at UNH.

This seminar will cover the basics of IP and how understanding intellectual property can actually accelerate the advancement of knowledge in your area, including a brief discussion on non-traditional areas (teaching, creative expression, etc).

We will discuss relevant policies on campus which impact IP and will leave time for discussion.

The seminar will be followed by cocktails and networking from 5:00-7:00pm at Ballard's in downtown Durham courtesy of seminar sponsors Devine Millimet, Pierce Atwood, Ropes & Gray, and Salient Surgical Technologies.

The Innovation Catalyst Seminar Series, hosted monthly, discusses relevant issues related to commercializing UNH’s innovations, including current and emerging best practices on campus.

The seminars are open to all and designed to be a meeting place for innovators, entrepreneurs, service providers, and anyone else interested in how the university innovations of today represent the information and opportunities of tomorrow.
