Join us for a special visit from Sanjeev Thohan, Senior Research Fellow in Preclinical Sciences/Translational Sciences at the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research in Cambridge, MA.

About our Presenter:

 

Sanjeev Thohan is a Senior Research Fellow in Preclinical Sciences/Translational Sciences at the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research in Cambridge, MA. Prior to this role, he served as the Director of Non-Clinical Discovery/Development at Exelixis Inc in South San Francisco, CA. He holds MS and PhD degrees in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University of Arizona and University of Maryland with concentrations in interspecies drug metabolism mechanisms, bioactivation, and systems toxicology. His broad background from research units at Walter Reed Army Institute for Research, Covance, AstraZeneca, ViroPharma, and Exelixis allows him a unique vantage point to discovery-development based non-clinical research activities. During his research career, he has facilitated over 20 compounds into clinical trials in the Anti-infective, Anti-viral, Oncology, Metabolic Diseases and Cardiovascular therapeutic areas.

The seminar will be followed by beer and networking from 5:00-7:00pm in the same room. Attendees must be 21+ to partake.


LOCATION & PARKING!

ORPC seminars are located in the Elliott Alumni Center on the corner of Edgewood Road (off of Main Street) and Strafford Avenue in Durham.

Campus visitors are encouraged to park in Lot H for $1/hour; parking is free after 6pm. Metered parking is also available along Strafford Avenue.

The seminars are open to all and designed to be a meeting place for innovators, entrepreneurs, service providers, and anyone else interested in how the university innovations of today represent the information and opportunities of tomorrow.
