Event description

Description

The educational collaboratory of Intersection-Inc.

“Fantastic introduction to the benefits of design thinking for any business. It makes what could be seen as foreign activities to “non-designers” accessible and easy to take away and introduce to your company.” Workshop attendee

Looking to apply Design Thinking principles to your next project? The Design Academy’s hybrid workshop offers participants one full day of guidance from practicing, industry professionals on a project plan of their choice. The face-to-face, interactive workshop is supplemented with one-on-one continued support through various stages of application. The small group workshop setting provides the perfect setting to select the appropriate tools, develop an action plan and compare notes with other participants.

Those who complete the workshop and mentorship hours are awarded an authenticated “Practitioner” badge from The Design Academy, which represents the second of four levels of achievement in the Human-Centered Design Thinking Essentials pathway.

Human-Centered Design Thinking is a proven methodology that provides a flexible framework for creative problem solving. Participants learn to more effectively solve the "right" experience problem, deeply understand the needs of internal and external stakeholders, promote collaboration, align teams, integrate a framework for innovation, and reduce financial risk. This approach is ideal for, but not limited to organizational leadership, entrepreneurs or students interested in acquiring a basic understanding of Design Thinking principles.

A demonstrated, basic understanding of HCD principles proven through achievement of The Design Academy "Ambassador" badge or approved equivalent is required for acceptance into this workshop.
