Event description
What can the Tech Industry and We do to Promote Equality?

About this Event

The recent events including the tragic killings of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, Rayshard Brooks and others, followed by the protests and unrest across the world, have forced us as a nation to face the reality that systemic norms of racism, injustice, and violence exist. Because Innovate@UCLA is resolute in its commitment to justice, equity, and inclusion, we are hosting an event that gives voice to stories of those who have experienced inequity and holds space to start the conversation about what we can do as a tech community to promote equality and justice for all people.

We know that a key lever in fostering more equitable and just systems is sharing of stories, perspectives and voices that can elevate how individuals experience systemic injustice, and how people across the tech industry are innovating in ways that promote positive social change. Through our listening and learning from one another, we hope you will leave this event inspired to take action in your own organizations – actions that lead leads to deeper connections with one another and a better future for all of us. Let us be the change we want to see in the world!
