init(together) Southern California Women in Computing Conference
Description
init(together) is a Southern California conference for women who are studying computer science or beginning computing careers in industry and academia. The conference will feature a series of panel discussions and workshops for women seeking to develop their skills in computing. We are launching our mentorship program to connect female computing students and women entering industry with faculty and industry professionals in Southern California. Our Career Expo will feature a variety of companies and programs in Southern California - bringing industry directly to attendees.
Women seeking to begin their careers will be given numerous opportunities to network and interact directly with companies and organizations. Young women in high school or beginning college will be immersed tech culture with their peers to inspire them to pursue computing. All attendees will be given the tools to collaborate with their peers and to independently start their own technical endeavors.
IMPORTANT: Even if you are not a student organization, if you want to attend as a group (of 5 or more attendees, including faculty and graduate students) please email init.together.conference@gmail.com
If you attend as a group each member receives a $5.00 discount and your group name, logo, and contact information can be added to the directory on our website and conference program, which will be given to companies, faculty, and other students.

Who can attend this event?
This event is intended for women who are students or professionals who are beginning their careers in computing. Experienced professionals in the industry and academia are encouraged to attend as mentors and role models.
How can I become involved as a mentor?

How can I become involved as a company?
Companies who are interested in sponsorship, speaking, or participating in our Career Expo should email us at init.together.conf@gmail.com
How can I become involved as a student organization?
Student organizations that are involved in computing, engineering, and especially women in computing are encouraged to represent their group at the conference. If your group can pledge at least 5 members to attend the event, your logo and contact information can be put on our central website and in our conference program as part of the Network of Women in Computing Student Groups in Southern California, where faculty, students, and companies can find you and reach out to you. Groups of 5 or more will also receive a personal code to take $5 off of their registration.

Can init(together) donate registration?
Yes! For a limited number of attendees we can donate registration to non-profits and other groups bringing high school students to the conference. Please contact init.together.conf@gmail.com if you are interested!
