Infrared Digital Photo Workshop
Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM (PST)
Instructor Steve Cohen will share his process for shooting digital infrared images. He will demonstrate how to use an infrared cutoff filter to capture infrared spectrum images on your DSLR. Students will learn the skills needed to use the filter including selecting an appropriate lens, focusing and exposure techniques, post processing in Photoshop and how to successfully print your file.
This workshop starts in the classroom then moves outdoors for practical shooting exercises. The students will return to the computer lab for Photoshop infrared processing and a printing demonstration.
What to Bring: The first requirement is an open and enquiring mind. You should have a digital SLR camera with lenses either fixed focal lengths or zoom. You should also have a sturdy tripod and a cable release. Necessary for the course is an Infra Red cut off filter. The Hoya R72 IR cut off filter is the personal choice of the instructor. He uses the 77mm size with step rings so I can use just one filter on any of my lenses.
Experience Level: Beginner to Intermediate: Attendee should be familiar with the basic functions and menus of their camera
