Event Details

InfraGardNCR is proud to present #CYBERCamp2019!  This year's camp is TWO WEEKS!  

We are partnering with Marymount University, and others, to bring high school students an opportunity to learn about various aspects of cybersecurity.  

JULY 15 - JULY 26, 2018 | ARLINGTON, VA | 8:30 am – 4:30 PM 

Camp will be held Monday through Friday both weeks.  Students cannot attend only week 2.  The camp is a two-week curriculum in which week 2's content will build on what's learned during week 1.

Students will learn the following

  • Windows operating system from the command line perspective

  • Exposure to Linux

  • How to forensically process and manage digital information

  • Learn how networks operate (TCP/IP)

  • Development of forensic skills for static and dynamic analysis

  • Ethical responsibility in cybersecurity

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Students must be rising freshmen through recently graduated (2019) high school students.
  • Basic understanding of computers (Windows OS) and a strong passion to understand and learn about cybersecurity.
  • Familiarity with Linux and command line will be helpful but is not required

RECOGNITION

Each student who completes the two week camp will receive a certificate of completion.

Students will also take home a Raspberry Pi kit (valued at $200), thumb drive, camp t-shirt and camp bag.

HOURS and LOCATION 

8:30 AM - 4:30 PM 

Marymount University at Ballston Center, 1000 North Glebe Road, Arlington, VA 22201

Parents/guardians are responsible for drop-off and pick-up each day.  Additional information about parking will be provided upon confirmation of attendance.

Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are included.

InfraGardNCR members have the opportunity to register early at the early-bird price of $800 until February 15th.

Registration for non-members will open on February 16th.

Registration cost will increase March 1st.

**Requests for refunds will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

If you have not done so already, please complete the Camp Application which can be found on the chapter website here: http://www.infragardncr.org/cybercamp.  Once your application is complete, please email it to Jen Fritz at jen@fritzcentral.com.

Interested in volunteering?

If you are interested in volunteering (no technical expertise required), please contact Kristi Horton at kristi@horton-innovations.com.  We'll need chaperones for a field trip, classroom assistants and instructors.  Minimum commitment is four hours.

InfraGard - NCR

It is the mission of the InfraGard National Capital Region Members Alliance (InfraGardNCR) to improve and extend information sharing between private industry and the government, particularly the FBI, for the protection of our critical national infrastructure.  InfraGardNCR consists of a growing membership of professionals who are creating a more resilient critical infrastructure in the National Capital Region (NCR - Washington, DC and northern VA).  These individuals are from all 16 sectors of critical infrastructure and represent the defense industrial base, water supply systems, energy grid, emergency services, law enforcement, health systems, gas and oil, transportation, banking, and telecommunications. Our membership is voluntary yet exclusive and strives to promote ongoing dialogue, education, community outreach and timely communication between public and private members in an effort to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from all hazards or events, and to minimize their impact on lives, property, and the economy.
