Event Details

This session is for those of you who aren’t necessarily looking for a job today, but are thinking about the future. But, if you are looking for something new, and don’t know where to start, come hear Mary discuss:

  •     How to identify and research industries/roles that might be a fit.
  •     How to ask for introductions.
  •     What to include in an email or LI message to get a meeting.
  •     Appropriate follow-up to an informational interview? Thank you notes and next steps.

Mary K Cavanaugh is Vice President, Senior Career Consultant and Director, Client Services at Keystone Associates.  Mary advises executives, managers, and professional contributors from a wide range of industries as they navigate their career transitions. After a 20-year career in Human Resources with high tech, government contracting, and professional services industries – including science and biotech – Mary joined Keystone Associates to leverage her deep experience coaching clients in their career management strategy. Her expertise encompasses career development, performance management, recruiting and selection, and training.  A frequent presenter and panel member, Mary has discussed career management issues and innovations at MIT Sloan Boston Alumni Association, the CFA Society of Boston, and the Boston Securities Traders Association.  Mary received her BA from Boston College and is a CPI Master Career Transitions Consultant and Certified New Horizons Coach.

Registration: Alumni may bring one guest for free.

On-Campus Free Parking: Due to the never-ending construction, Sloan's Hermann Garage is only accessable via Main Street. It is a small garage without a gate, and directly under the Sloan library. Another option is the Amherst Street/E51 lot. These parking lots are free after 5pm. The closest public parking is Kendall Center Green Garage, next to the Marriott Hotel. The entrance is 90 Broadway Street. For other suggestions, click here
