Saturday 5K: Outer French Quarter Loop 9 AM
If you'd like to work up a sweat, tour the French Quarter, or just squeeze in some extra time with your favorite ladies, join us for a 5K Saturday morning. We'll meet in the lobby of the Astor Crowne Plaza at 9 AM (couldn't hurt to show up a few minutes early!) and head out for a ~3.1 mile loop around the French Quarter, ending back at the hotel. Don't let the word "run" scare you away as we expect plenty of walkers, as well. There is no cost associated with this event.
Ended Free
Saturday Brunch: Daisy Duke's, 10 AM
Located just two minutes from where the 5K will finish, Daisy Duke's is a casual-but-Zagat-rated restaurant with menu items such as the cajun omelet, all-you-can-eat crawfish, and free refills on all coffee and Bloody Marys. Open to all attendees, even those (smarties) who decided to sleep in instead of exercise. The cost of this event is not included in your registration fee, so please bring money with you.
Ended Free
Saturday After-dinner Drinks: Pat O'Brien's Bar
After dinner at Tujague's, we'll walk over to Pat O'Brien's for more conversation and drinks. Their hurricanes are world famous! It'd be wrong not to try one (or two). Feel free to stay for a few minutes or a few rounds. All are welcome, but no pressure to cancel anything else you might have planned. The cost of this event is not included in your registration fee, so please bring money with you.
Ended Free
Saturday Jazz Brunch at Commander's Palace and Garden District Walking Tour
We'll meet in the Astor Crowne Plaza lobby at 9:45am, then we'll catch the St. Charles street car to the famous New Orleans Garden District. We'll do a self-guided walking tour to see the fabulous and ornate mansions while we work up an appetite. (The weather should be pleasant, so we won't get all hot and sweaty.) Then at 11:30 we'll enjoy the jazz brunch at Commander's Palace, a New Orleans institution. http://www.commanderspalace.com/ The cost of this event is not included in your registration fee, so please bring money with you. The Jazz Brunch special menu options start at $29.00 and include appetizer, entree and dessert - that's why we need to work up an appetite first! (There are also lunch options and a la carte menu options much cheaper.) The cost to ride the street car is $1.25 cash only, each way. Attire is a little snazzier, so no shorts or t-shirts. Please sign up by Friday, November 2nd so I can make a reservation. I'll add a few extra spots for anyone who decides at the Blathering that they want to join us, but I'd like to have a good estimate. Ask Andrea @andreaunplugged if you have any questions.
