Infopoint Lunchtime Conference: Staying below 1.5°C: what role for forests...
Date and time
Description
On the eve of COP22 there are still major unanswered questions about the role that land and forests play in emissions reductions commitments. How to ensure the long-term global goal recognises the need to reduce emissions from land use change or even increase the carbon sink (negative emissions) while respecting social and environmental limits to land-based mitigation? How to ensure that removals of CO2 do not dilute ambition to reduce fossil fuel emissions? This session will provide fresh insight and provide new data on the role that land and forests play in reaching 1.5°C.
