Business Innovation Beyond Web 2.0, With Irving Wladawsky-Berger

When IBM launched its e-business strategy in the mid 1990s, it hoped that the Internet would significantly improve p[rocess efficiency and transform relationships with customers and partners. E-business surpassed even the most optimistic expectations.

With the recent rise of Web 2.0 and social platforms, the Internet has taken on an even more critical role, becoming a medium that helps people communicate, share ideas, work together and innovate collaboratively, regardless of distance. Web 2.0 has led to vast productivity improvements and changed the entire structure of businesses.

Now the next great stage of evolution will occur: Cloud computing promises to bring powerful and affordable apps and services to everyone, poor and rich alike. People, businesses, organizations and governments will be able to adapt and combine these tools in innovative ways to achieve great leaps ahead in productivity and competitiveness. This dynamic will change the business landscape and transform the world economy in ways that we can scarcely imagine.

Irving Wladawsky-Berger was there in the earliest days of e-business and has traveled the world studying its evolution for more than 15 years. In this webinar, he discusses some of the major opportunities and challenges that lie ahead as cloud computing transforms businesses, industries and entire economies.
