The PNG University of Technology and the University of South Pacific recently joined forces to deliver a world class part-time 2 year MBA program in Lae. Alternatively, a 1 year full time MBA is offered in Suva, Fiji. Dr. Halahingano Tu‘akolo Rohorua (short Dr. Hala) from USP will be conducting an information session for the general public and interested candidates. The Vice Chancellor, Dr. Albert Schram, will be introducing her, and recent UNITECH MBA graduates who will give their testimoninals. Dr. Halahingano Tu‘akolo Rohorua recently joined the Graduate School of Business MBA programme as a fulltime staff after 17 years of service with The University of Waikato, Hamilton New Zealand. At The University of Waikato Dr Rohorua taught accounting and economics and was a Research Fellow in the Department of Economics as a member of the research team in the Pacific Islands New Zealand and Australian Labour Migration project working in collaboration with the World Bank and Stanford University. Dr Rohorua gained her BA (majoring in Mathematics and Economics) and MBA (gold medalist) from the University of the South Pacific, Fiji. She gained her PhD from University of Waikato, New Zealand. Dr Rohorua has lived in Tonga, Fiji, Australia, Solomon Islands and New Zealand and worked previously in the fields of education and banking. To date she has carried out applied research, teaching, assessment evaluations and curriculum development in various areas of economics, accounting, mathematics, finance and data analysis. Dr Rohorua has publications in the Pacific Economics Bulletin, World Development, Asia Pacific Development Journal, Asia Pacific Migration Journal, Health Economics, IZA Discussion Papers, New Zealand Economic Papers and the Economics Department of University of Waikato Working Papers. Before joining the Graduate School of Business Dr Rohorua also taught Quantitative Business Analysis, Business Economics, Accounting, and Finance courses in the MBA programme.
