Description
Are you an ambitious government team, thinking there must be a different, or better way of doing things?
Are you ready to take your current approaches and ways of working to the next level by immersing yourself and team in an innovation process over 8 months, lead by expert innovation practitioners from across the world?
States of Change learning program is a practice-led experience that embeds innovation capability and helps public servants become better problem solvers.
The program has been running across Australia and New Zealand throughout the year and are currently seeking applications for our next cohort.
This info session is an opportunity to hear more about the learning program and what we’re looking for in an application. Brenton Caffin, Faculty member of States of Change and Executive Director at UK's Innovation Foundation Nesta will join remotely and attendees will hear from the Ministry of Primary Industries team who are currently participating in the program and Nicole Barling-Luke, Program Manager.
More about the program:
Over eight months, teams take part in the learning program alongside their day jobs and learn how to take an experimental approach to problem solving. This involves exploring problems from new perspectives, and then testing and iterating possible solutions in order to quickly learn what works and what doesn’t before implementation. Importantly, participants also learn about the right conditions for innovation to happen and work closely with their departments, executives and colleagues to create an environment for success.
Throughout, teams work on real-life projects from their departments that they bring to the program. This ensures a bias towards practical action and ‘learning by doing’, taking teams on a learning journey where they go from testing out new approaches to applying them in practice.
