Description

Child care professionals can make a big difference in helping a new mother continue to breastfeed when she returns to work. Being breastfeeding-friendly can increase the length of time babies are breastfed, leading to better health for baby and mom. Come learn about infant feeding practices and how to support your breastfeeding families!

  • Home child care providers

  • Child care directors

  • Family, friend and neighbor child care providers

  • Early childhood professionals

You will receive:

2.5 clock hours in health, safety, and nutrition.

Free prizes for your center.

Training Goals:

  • Understand the benefits of breastfeeding and why breastfeeding support is important.

  • Recognize baby feeding cues and how to care for breastfed babies.

  • Understand how to use responsive feeding concepts while caring for infants.

  • Understand the developmental stages related to advancing food intake for infants.

  • Identify how to receive, prepare and store breast milk.

  • Know how to access and share breastfeeding resources with families.

  • Learn how to create a welcoming environment that encourages and supports breastfeeding.
