Overview
Learn infant CPR, how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED), and how to respond to choking emergencies.
- Includes hands-on practice using infant manikins.
- Adult CPR will be offered in a separate session and will include guidance for responding to cardiac emergencies involving children.
- This is a non-certification class. Participants will receive a participation card (may be helpful for babysitters and caregivers).
- Taught by Franklin Firefighters who are paramedics and American Heart Association CPR instructors, using the AHA Family & Friends curriculum.
- Recommended for ages 12 and older.
- Class involves kneeling, bending, and physical activity—please wear appropriate clothing.
- According to the American Heart Association, immediate CPR can double or triple survival chances after cardiac arrest.
