I love induction powered burners and cooktops! Learn all about them in this interactive class.

Induction powered glass top burners/cooktops have made the old thermal electric tops obsolete. Induction also challenges gas burners as the preferred burner type in the residential space.

Induction is more efficient, cleaner, safer, healthier, powerful, responsive, consistent, and offers a wider range of low to high heat settings than gas or electric burners.

Induction Burners are 90%+ efficient in converting power into heat to cook with. Gas is 40%. Electric is 75%.

Induction Burners produce 35,000 BTU equivalent heat output, gas in a home kitchen cannot exceed 25,000. Usually a high powered gas burner for the home is in the 15,000-20,000 BTU range. (Commercial gas burners are usually 40,000-60,000 BTU output. Wok burners can be 100,000+ BTU output.)

Induction Burners don't spill heat into your kitchen like gas or electric. Meaning cooking in the Summer won't heat up the whole house.

Induction burners are easier to keep clean. Because they don't get glowing red hot like electric burners, food won't get cooked onto the glass surface. A warm soapy non-abrasive sponge or dishtowel is sufficient to cleaning an induction burner.

Induction burners have a safety feature to shut off if the cooking vessel gets too hot. If an emergency pulls someone away from cooking, when the heat of the cooking vessel goes above typical cooking temperature range, the induction burner will sense this and shut off.

Induction burners cannot be turned on without a cooking vessel on it. (Some people believe that induction burners need special pans to cook with. They only need COMPATIBLE pots or pans to interact with. Any magnetic metal will work with induction. If a magnet sticks to your cookware, the induction burner will work with it. Cast iron works very well with induction burners.
