Event description

Description

The son of Indian immigrants, Alderman Ameya Pawar was born and raised in Illinois. In 2011, he beat the Chicago machine to become alderman of Chicago’s 47th Ward, the first Asian American in the City Council. In 2015, Ameya was re-elected with 82% of the vote, the largest margin in the city. Ameya Pawar announced his candidacy for Governor of Illinois in late 2016, and he wants you to hear his plan! Come to the Indivisble South Side Town Hall to hear his vision and get a chance to ask questions.

On October 23rd, join Ameya for a discussion on his campaign to serve as your Illinois Governor, and his progressive vision for Illinois. Following an engaging Q & A session, stick around for an informal meet and greet with Ameya, and get to know the man behind the New Deal For Illinois.

To learn more about Ameya's platform beforehand, visit the 'Issues' section of his website, and get to know what sets Ameya’s vision for Illinois apart: http://www.pawar2018.com/issues/
