Description

Making the Invisible Visible; A Policy Blueprint from Urban Indian America

The evening will begin at 5:30 PM with social and networking time, followed by dinner served at 6:00 PM. During dinner, Janeen Comenote will deliver her keynote address. Afterward, she will host a panel discussion with Joe Hobot of the American Indian OIC, Patina Park of the Minnesota Indian Women's Resource Center, Mary LaGarde of the Minnesota American Indian Center, and Robert Lilligren of the Native American Community Development Institute (NACDI). The event will end with closing remarks from Peggy Flanagan of the Minnesota House of Representatives.

Keynote Speaker - Janeen Comenote

Janeen is a founding member and director of the National Urban Indian Family Coalition. She has spent the last 10 years advocating for American Indians/Alaska Native who live off reservations and endeavoring to provide a voice to this often “silent majority” in Indian Country. She is the author of Making the Invisible Visible; A Policy Blueprint from Urban Indian America.
