San Fernando is the first city in Los Angeles County to recognize the second Monday of October as Indigenous Peoples Day! In a celebratory response, the City of San Fernando has partnered with the Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians and Pukúu Cultural Community Services in our efforts to host the City’s first Indigenous Peoples Day.
Indigenous Peoples Day celebrates the sovereignty, cultures, and lives of all indigenous peoples. The event will host Indigenous songs and dances from the North and South Americas, as well as traditional storytelling. There will be indigenous food, drum circles, traditional games, arts and crafts workshops, educational booths, and interactive stations.
