Event description

Description

Churches and religious institutions in the United States are experiencing a rapid increase of violence and violent incidents. Causes of church violence nationwide are being attributed to terrorism, domestic and family violence, robbery, mental illness, and civil unrest.

High-profile cases make headlines everyday which highlight a reality that violence in churches isn't unusual. A recent report on church violence shows that over the last five years DFI's (deadly force incidents) average 70 per year in the U.S. That same report states that 2018 is on par to surpass that average.*

This one day conference will feature two keynote speakers: Mr. Brian Harpole, a nationally recognized church and school security expert and former law enforcement officer and Mr. Jeff Lee, COO of TOCCOA Security Consulting, close-quarters combat expert and senior pastor, as well as, representatives from the FBI, ATF, and Indiana State Police.

TOPICS INCLUDE:
Church Vulnerability in the U.S.
Identifying Threats
Developing a Security-minded Atmosphere
Responding to Violence
Identifying Volunteers, Roles & Responsibilities
Remarks from Law Enforcement (FBI, ATF, Indiana State Police)

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Ushers, greeters, church leaders, security teams/volunteers, deacons and staff and volunteers in frequent contact with congregation and visitors.
