Event description
The ICC is excited to announce the 2021 Annual Meeting – Innovation in Cancer Care: Moving Toward Social Equity.

About this Event

The ICC Annual Meeting is a unique event that brings together the diverse, broad spectrum of organizations and professionals needed to cause action and create meaningful change in cancer prevention and control. Attendees at this meeting have an extraordinary opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences with a wide variety of experts from the Indiana cancer community. This year's theme is Innovation in Cancer Care: Moving Toward Social Equity.

The objective of this year’s annual meeting is to elevate the discussion of health equity in cancer through innovative policy and practice recommendations that can create meaningful change to reduce disparities in cancer care. Our goal is to stimulate discussion, collaboration, and strategic planning among statewide partners. Stakeholders will convene to address innovative practices as they relate to the full continuum of cancer prevention and care.

CME, CNE, and CEU for social workers, marriage and family therapists, and mental health counselors will be offered at no cost.

We are honored to welcome Bloomberg Distinguished Professor of Oncology and Epidemiology at Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Otis W. Brawley, MD, MACP, FASCO, FACE as our keynote speaker. He is a board certified medical oncologist and an epidemiologist. He is an authority on cancer screening and prevention and leads a broad research effort of cancer health disparities at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Bloomberg School of Public Health and the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, focusing on how to close racial, economic, and social disparities in the prevention, detection, and treatment of cancer. From 2007 to 2018, Brawley was Chief Medical and Scientific Officer of the American Cancer Society. He is recipient of the U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) Meritorious Service Medal, the Department of Defense Distinguished Service Award and the 2019 American Medical Association Distinguished Service Award. He is also a member of the National Academy of Medicine.

Attending the ICC Annual Meeting and participating in ICC coalition activities is a significant step in reducing our cancer burden. Join us as we look forward to a day full of cross-collaboration and networking with our state’s knowledgeable and passionate cancer advocates! Be sure to mark your calendar for a full day of extraordinary and inspiring speakers!
